Our Curriculum

Music

At St Martin’s Primary, we believe that music is a unique way of communicating that can inspire and motivate children.

We want to make a difference/ we want to develop the whole child/we want to build our children’s future together by providing our children with opportunities to create, play perform and enjoy music as well as developing skills to critically appreciate and appraise a wide variety of musical forms.

We use the Music service scheme Charanga to deliver our music lessons. The scheme supports all requirements of the National Curriculum.

In addition to music lessons children from Years 1-6 also get an opportunity to play a musical instrument through a day’s immersion with a music specialist. Children also have singing lessons from a voice coach – Anthem Voices. In addition children in Year 3 are taught for a term by a specialist from the music service.
